Without a water source and facing a week of 95-degree temperatures, Lake View Motor Speedway has postponed Saturday's $5,000-to-win Vision Wheel Steel Block Bandits event.

The Nichols, S.C., track hasn't received rain in four weeks and is unable to prepare the track surface. The track has a retention pond that collects rainwater, but it has virtually run dry, according track owner Scott Tripp, with no hope that intervening rain will make a difference. No makeup date was immediately announced for the Larry Long Memorial, an event honoring the late track announcer and publicist.

Lake View's most recent event was June 15 and its next event after a scheduled summer break is Aug. 3, an program including the Limited Late Model division.
