Rain pushes Screven's Rebel Yell to Sunday
With Sunday's originally scheduled $10,053-to-win event already rained out at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway and after fighting multiple late-afternoon showers Saturday at Screven Motor Speedway (pictured), Schaeffer's Southern Nationals officials reset the 25th annual Rebel Yell for Sun., July 21, at the Sylvania, Ga., third-mile.
Screven's pits will open Sunday at 8 a.m. and grandstands at noon, with a drivers' meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. and hot laps starting at 1:30 for the 53-lap, $10,053-to-win show. Also competing will be 602 Bandits ($1,500-to-win), street stocks, road warriors, crown vics and sport compacts ($5,000-to-win).
With Swainsboro's cancellation wet weather has claimed three of the weekend's four events, but Southern Nationals officials will attempt to salvage Screven's stop by moving it to Sunday.
