Wild West opener now $25,000-to-win
Next season's Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout opener at Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park will pay $25,000-to-win as part of the newly created Penske Racing Shocks 25-To-25 presented by Schaeffer Oil.
With an additional $34,000 added to the total purse for the first of six Super Late Model programs, Jan. 4's Penske 50 presented by Schaeffer Oil opener and Jan. 12's Rio Grande Waste Service 50 presented by Shaw Trucking finale will both pay $25,000-to-win and $1,000-to-starting in bookending four $10,000-to-win events on Jan. 5, 8, 10-11.
"It starts the miniseries with a bang and gives the Super Late Model racers another big purse to race for,” Wild West Shootout co-promoter Chris Kearns said in a news release.
More than $350,000 in prize money overall will be on the line during the miniseries with Super Late Models joined by modifieds and X-mods. Along with six race nights, practices are scheduled for Jan. 3 and 7 for the event that drew more than 180 competitors in 2024. Visit wildwestshootout.net for more details.
