Rainouts, cancellations for Aug. 7-11
Among non-national touring Dirt Late Model special and sanctioned events rained out, postponed or cancelled Aug. 7-11 (among other changes); rescheduled date added unless no makeup date was immediately announced:
Oklahoma: Saturday's Apex Healthcare Partners Sooner Series event at Oklahoma Sport Park in Ada, Okla., was cancelled by unforeseen circumstances.
Halifax County: Halifax County Motor Speedway in Brinkleyville, N.C., cancelled Friday's portion of the third annual Joe Huss Memorial, causing Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge Series officials to cancel their entire portion of the two-day event because of rain and severe weather. Track officials still intend to host local competition on Saturday.
Madras: Madras (Ore.) Speedway cancelled Saturday's $3,500-to-win third annual Hunter Johnson Memorial because of wildfires in the area.
Carolina: Saturday's Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series event at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, N.C., rained out.
Sumter: Saturday's Blue Ridge Outlaw Series and Southern Wedge Late Model Association events at Sumter (S.C.) Speedway rained out.
Buckshot: Bucskhot Speedway in Clanton, Ala., cancelled Saturday's $5,000-to-win Southern All Star Series event.
Fayetteville: Cancelled Saturday's $10,000-to-win Mid-East Super Late Model event at Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway because of expected rain and standing water resulting from tropical storm Debby.
Hibbing: Wednesday's $2,500-to-win Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series event at Hibbing (Minn.) Raceway has been cancelled becaused of a less than desirable forecast.
