Labor Day weekend rainouts, cancellations
Among non-national touring Dirt Late Model special and sanctioned events rained out, postponed or cancelled Aug. 29-Sept. 2 (among other changes); rescheduled date added unless no makeup date was immediately announced:
Toccoa: Toccoa (Ga.) Raceway cancelled Sunday's $10,000-to-win Stephen Wragg Memorial for unsanctioned Limited Late Models because of rain.
Tyler County: In addition to Sunday's Lucas Oil Series action, the $4,000-to-win RUSH Crate Late Model-sanctioned portion of the 56th annual Hillbilly 100 has also been cancelled because of heavy rain.
Tazewell: Sunday's Southern All Star-sanctioned Buddy Rogers Memorial at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway was rained out and rescheduled for Sept. 7.
Cherokee: Sunday's Carolina Clash-sanctioned Hall of Fame Race at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., rained out; the event won't be made up, but the track's Hall of Fame inductions will be rescheduled.
Wythe: Rural Retreat, Va.'s Wythe Raceway moved Sunday's $10,000-to-win American All-Star Series presented by PPM Crystal Cup finale to Monday.
Elkins: Saturday's $3,000-to-win Fall Festival 50 for Super Late Models at Elkins Raceway in Kerens, W.Va., rained out.
Fort Payne: Saturday's United Championship Racing Alliance Crate Late Model event at Fort Payne (Ala,) Motor Speedway rained out.
Tyler County: Saturday's $5,000 Hillbilly 50 for the Steel Block Late Model Series at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, W.Va., rained out.
Mountain View: Saturday's $3,000-to-win Topless Outlaw Dirt Racing Series stop at Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, Tenn., rained out.
Raceway 7: Conneaut, Ohio's Raceway 7 reset Saturday's $5,000-to-win September Shootout for Sunday.
Beckley: Beckley (W.Va.) Motor Speedway cancelled Saturday's $10,000-to-win second round of the American All-Star Series presented by PPM Series Crystal Cup because of heavy and sustained rain.
Lernerville: Sarver, Pa.'s Lernerville Speedway track officials cancelled Saturday's $4,500-to-win Ken Schaltenbrand Sr. Memorial for Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series competitors after heavy rain.
Jackson: Saturdary's Comp Cams Super Dirt Series event at Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Miss., rained out.
Tri-City: Saturday's RUSH Crate Late Model Series event at Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pa., rained out.
Port Royal: Saturday's $7,333-to-win Butch Renninger Memorial for Super Late Models at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway was postponed to Sept. 6 along with the $3,333-to-win Limited Late Model event.
Farmer City: Prior to any on-track activity, MARS Series officials cancelled Friday's $5,000-to-win Labor Day weekend opener at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway after heavy and sustained rain.
191: The reopening weekend under new promoters at 191 Speedway in Campton, Ky., rained out, and was rescheduled for Sept. 20-21 with $3,000- and $7,500-to-win Super Late Model events.
Selinsgrove: Sunday's $6,300-to-win Paul Long Memorial for Super Late Models was cancelled; Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway cited concerns for promoter Stephanie Baker's health in lingering complications from an automobile accident.
East Bay: The weekend's $10,000-to-win Battle by the Bay on the Crate Racin' USA Series at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Fla., rained out.
Proctor: Proctor (Minn.) Speedway cancelled Thursday's 52nd annual Silver 1000 event on the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series because of rain; the $3,000-to-win program was reset for Sept. 26 and as a non-series event.
