Record purse for Whynot Fall Classic
The 30th running of the Coors Light Fall Classic Oct. 25-26 at Whynot Motorsports Park will feature the richest payout in event history with the standalone finale paying $20,000 to the winner, promoters announced today. With split-field $3,000-to-win features on opening night, a potential $23,000 is up for grabs for Super Late Model drivers at the Meridian, Miss., oval.
The event-record winner’s purse reflects a $5,000 increase over last season’s $15,000 payout, part of a substantial multidivisional purse increase. Crate Late Models will chase a $5,000-to-win purse (up from $3,000) with $2,500-to-win purses for modifieds and street stocks; $1,500-to-win for 602 Crates and factory stocks; and $500-to-win for enduros.
Previous Fall Classic Super Late Model winners include Jonathan Davenport, Scott Bloomquist, Mike Marlar, Devin Moran, Shane Clanton, Don O’Neal and Brian Birkhofer. Ashton Winger of Hampton, Ga., won last year's race over 47 entries.
Practice is scheduled for Oct. 24. The event will be live-streamed at huntthefront.tv. Find more information at whynotmotorsportspark.com.
