What won the race: Taking the lead near midway, Nate Jantz of McKinney, Texas, outran Ross McCartney to win the Sooner Late Model Series season finale Saturday at Enid Speedway. Jantz earned $750 for his third career Sooner Series triumph.
Key notes: Jantz’s other two series wins came in 2018 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Okla., and in 2017 at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla. … A midrace mishap involving several cars resulted in series points leader and hometown driver Kip Hughes leaving the race on a hook. However, Hughes was well enough ahead in the tour’s points race to wrap up the 2020 title, his third straight. …Among drivers not starting the 25-lap main event: Jason Redman, Travis Johnson, Sammy Wilson, Shawn Greenlee and Jerry Derr.
Winner's sponsors: Jantz drives a Black Diamond Race Car powered by a Jimmy Allard Racing Engine with sponsorship from WRP Racing Products, K & J Properties, Jimmy Allard Racing Engines and Karl Gollnast.
