What won the race: Third-starting Craig Parker of Waddell, Ariz., led flag-to-flag Saturday at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway for a $1,000 Southwest Dirt Racing Association victory. Parker's dominating win was the 12th of his career and his fifth at the Queen Creek oval.
Key notes: Parker joins his teammate, John Cornell of Phoenix, Ariz., as the only drivers to score multiple main event wins during the abbreviated season. ... Cornell, the three-time defending SWDRA series champion, finished a distant 8.581 seconds behind Parker in a race that went green the entire distance and lasted less than eight minutes. ... Kent Rosevear of Yuma, Ariz., joined Parker and Cornell as one of only three drivers to complete all 25 laps. ... Lance White of Gilbert, Ariz., and Paul Rios of Tucson, Ariz., both suffered mechanical issues during the briskly paced main event, relegating them to finish 10th and 11th, respectively. ... After experiencing mechanical woes during heat race action, Brad Williams of Tucson, Ariz., and hometown driver, John Morris Jr. scratched from the feature. ... Saturday's race was the touring series' 33rd sanctioned visit to FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway and the fourth event of the shortened 2020 campaign.
On the move: Bruce Duckett of Mesa, Ariz., started 10th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Parker's Cornell Racing Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Klein Engines, EMD Wraps, Mom Accounting and ATEC Engineering.
Points chase: SWDRA officials have elected not to crown a series champion in a pandemic-abbreviated season.
Current weather: Clear, 70°F
Car count: 13
Polesitter: John Cornell
Heat race winners: Dakota Berry, Kent Rosevear
