What won the race: Pulling ahead on the opening lap, polesitter Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., led all 40 circuits to capture Saturday's Sweetheart at 411 Motor Speedway. Hedgecock, who earned $5,000, led by as much as 4.620 seconds before finishing 0.943 of a second ahead of third-starting Jensen Ford of Johnson City, Tenn.
Key notes: Hedgecock is eligible for a $1,000 bonus if he wins Sunday’s Winterfest at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tenn. … Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, Ga., took the seat of the JCM Motorsports entry driven by Jason Hiett at Georgia-Florida Speedweeks; Herrington started 13th and finished sixth. ... Eleven of the 21 starters completed 40 laps, with 19 finishing the race. … Gatlinburg, Tenn.’s Clay Coghlan was set to start 12th, but didn’t complete a lap. … Hayden Cardwell of Knoxville, Tenn., won the Crate Late Model feature while Knoxville’s Addison Cardwell won the Sportsman feature.
