What won the race: Utilizing the outside line, sixth-starting Tyler Stevens of Searcy, Ark., executed a pass for the lead on lap four and paced the final 46 circuits to earn his first career Comp Cams Super Dirt Series feature victory at Boothill Speedway on Saturday, collecting $10,000. Not only the most lucrative win of his career, Saturday's victory was the first for Stevens in a Super Late Model.
Quotable: “Man, it’s unbelievable,” Stevens said. “When I was a kid, you hear, you know, Ronny Adams, and the legend that he was, and it’s amazing to win something like this.”
Key notes: The 35-year-old Stevens failed to qualify in his Super Late Model debut in Friday's weekend opener at Boothill. He spent the previous two decades racing modifieds and Crate Late Models. ... After winning the Crate Late Model feature earlier in the evening and leading the first three laps, B.J. Robinson of Bossier City, La., claimed the runner-up position, 1.840 seconds behind Stevens. ... Defending series champion Logan Martin of West Plains, Mo., earned his second third-place finish of the weekend at Boothill. ... After winning the $5,000 weekend opener on Friday, Brian Rickman of Columbus, Miss., finished fourth on Saturday. ... Three separate incidents slowed Saturday's feature, which lasted 26 minutes with 13 competitors completing all 50 laps. ... The third annual Ronny Adams Memorial honored the late driver who passed away on Aug. 10, 2019, after a short battle with cancer. During his 51-year career the Texas native raced to 589 career wins, including 14 track championships at Boothill Speedway and nine Louisiana State Championships.
On the move: Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., started 13th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Stevens’s Rocket Chassis was powered by a Mod Co Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from Stallion Transportation Group, W&W Timber, Joel’s Auto Sales, Bass Bucks and Birds, Razor Edge Graphics and Bilstein Shocks.
