What won the race: Second-starting Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., took the lead for good on a lap-35 restart and paced the final five circuits en route to winning Thursday's 50th annual Silver 1000 feature at Halvor Lines Speedway, earning $6,000. Mars notched the third Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series victory of the season and the 13th of his career.
Key notes: Mars, who also won the Late Model portion of the Silver 1000 in 2017, moved into sole possession of fifth on the tour's all-time victories list. ... Pat Doar, the tour's winningest driver, led most of the race before Mars took command on the late-race restart. ... Doar finished 0.215 of a second behind Mars. ...
