What won the race: Michael Brown of Pageland, S.C., took the lead for good on lap 46 en route to capturing Saturday night's 's 50-lap American Crate All-Star Series Brick Mill Bash at Smoky Mountain Speedway. He pocketed a $10,000 top prize after beating Headingley, Manitoba's Ricky Weiss by 0.450 of a second.
Key notes: Brown led three separate times (laps 1-21, 32-39 and 46-50) in the competitive event. ... Weiss followed Brown by Jeremy Steel on lap 46 but couldn't overtake the victor in the closing circuits. ... The polesitting Steele led twice (laps 22-31 and 40-45) before fading to finish third. ... Mack McCarter advanced five positions and finished fourth. ... Hayden Cardwell of Knoxville, Tenn., finished fifth and clinched the 2022 American Crate All-Star Series championship as only non-points events remain on the schedule. ... Cameron Weaver advanced 12 positions and finished 10th. ... Saturday's feature, the Crate tour's second stop at Smoky Mountain and third $10,000-to-win event of the season, lasted a total of 23 minutes. ...
