J.T. Seawright waves the checkered flag in victory lane.
What won the race: Second-starting J.T. Seawright of Oxford, Ala., traded sliders for the lead with younger brother Sam Seawright, prevailing to the pace the final 12 laps at Boyd's Speedway, winning Saturday's $5,000 15th annual Cabin Fever feature. Seawright's victory is the first of his career with Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Series.
Quotable: "I didn't know where to be, I had Chad on the light sticks and he's kinda a rookie at it. I was trying to waive at him down here, I didn't know where to be," winner J.T. Seawright said. "I seen Sam get beside right here and I said oh lord this is fixing to get good and I think we slid each other about 10 times there, but it was awesome."
Key notes: Sam Seawright of Rainsville, Ala., led laps 27 and 28 before finishing second, 0.703 of a second back. After the race it was reported this is the first time Sam has finished second to his older brother. ... In total, the Seawrights combined to lead 39 of 40 laps (J.T. 2-26, 29-40; Sam 27-28). ... Christian Hanger started and finished third. ... Booger Brooks led lap one from the pole and ran second to J.T. Seawright early before suffering a flat left-rear tire on lap 21. Brooks pitted to change the flat and recovered to finish fourth. ... Robby Mason advanced eight positions and finished sixth. ... Todd Morrow gained 13 spots and finished seventh. ... Hayden Ownbey advanced seven spots and finished 11th. ... Saturday's 15th annual Cabin Fever feature, a non-points event for the Iron-Man Southern Series and the second of three scheduled races for the Iron-Man Winter Series, was slowed by four cautions and lasted 23 minutes, with 13 competitors completing all 40 laps. … The Iron-Man Southern Series returns to Boyd’s for its season finale, the $5,000-to-win Gobbler event scheduled for Nov. 18. … The Iron-Man Late Model Winter Series concludes with Feb. 25’s $5,000-to-win feature at Fort Payne Motor Speedway.
