What won the race: Winning after contact sent leader Neil Baggett into the turn-two wall on the final lap, thirteenth-starting Logan Martin of West Plains, Mo., emerged victorious at Boothill Speedway in a wild 30-lap Comp Cams Super Dirt Series series opener. Martin, who tracked down Baggett in the final laps and made contact trying to work underneath him, scored his 11th career series victory and a $5,000 payday on opening night of the fourth annual Ronny Adams Memorial.
Quotable: "Just a sucky deal. It's not even worth celebrating over. I mean, we'll take the check," Martin said. "Me and (Neil) Baggett, we've had run-ins in the past before. It's no excuse. It's just not even worth celebrating. ... Yeah, I mean, it's good to be (in victory lane), just wish it was under better circumstances."
Key notes: Martin, the two-time Comp Cams champion who is running as a rookie on the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series this season, took the checkers 1.174 seconds ahead of Hunter Rasdon of Jonesboro, Ark., after a last-lap restart following Neil Baggett's wreck. ... Baggett, of Columbus, Miss., inherited the race lead on lap 10, and retired in 11th after the tangle with Martin. ... The race took a dramatic turn on the ninth lap after Dillon McCowan led the first eight laps, The top four were collected when slower cars tangled entering turn one, knocking McCowan, second-running Kyle Beard, third-running Jonathan Davenport and fourth-running Garrett Alberson out of contention. ... Alberson rallied to finish fourth. ... With 10 laps to go, Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, and Spencer Hughes of Meridian, Miss., made contact while battling for second. Bagley finished ninth while Hughes was unable to continue, resulting in a 13th-place finish. ... Defending tour champion Brian Rickman of Columbus, Miss., finished 15th after an infield foray early in the race. ... Ten competitors completed 30 laps in the 33-minute race. ...
