What won the race: Grabbing the lead from Kyle Thomas near the halfway mark, Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va., finished a half second ahead of Jared Hawkins in winning Saturday’s 50-lap 36th annual Earl Hill Memorial at Tyler County Speedway. Carpenter earned $5,080.
Key notes: Filling-in while his brother, Jacob, is on vacation, Hawkins, of Fairmont, W.Va., crossed the line 0.565 seconds behind Carpenter aboard the CJJ Motorsports No. 37 entry. ... Young Pennsylvanian Drake Troutman finished third, 1.167 seconds back. ... After leading the first half of the race, Tyler County track points leader Kyle Thomas faded to finish sixth. ...
