What won the race: Pole-starting Mike Mullen of Seymour, Wis., stuck to the low line and fended off a last-corner challenge from Nick Anvelink, narrowly winning Sunday's $1,250 King of the Village feature at Luxemburg Speedway. Mullen led all 30 laps, beating Anvelink to the line by 0.240 seconds to secure his third Wabam Dirt Kings Tour victory of the season and the fourth of his career.
Key notes: This is Mullen's first series victory away from his home track of Outagamie Speedway. ... After competing with the Lucas Oil Series at Deer Creek Speedway, second-starting Anvelink, of Bonduel, Wis., settled for the runner-up position and maintains his series points lead. ... Justin Green used the low line to advance 14 positions, finishing third. ... Justin Schmidt gained three spots and finished fifth. ... Troy Springborn overcame a lap-five spin and recovered to finish sixth. ... Bill Edler ran as high as third before fading to finish seventh. ... Taylor Scheffler moved forward eight positions and finished eighth. ... Jared Siefert started 13th and finished ninth. ... Sunday’s feature was the second-ever series stop at Luxemburg, the first since 2018 and was slowed by four separate incidents.
On the move: Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., started 17th and finished third for his first top-five showing on the series.
Winner's sponsors: Mullen’s Ricky Lemmen Racing-owned Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Swinkles Trucking & Excavating Corp., Diemel’s Livestock, Toby K’s Hideaway, Wehrs Machine & Racing Products, Five Star Property Maintenance and Speedwerx.
