Devin Moran led all the way to win Monday's first $5,000 semifeature.
What won the race: Pole-starting Devin Moran of Dresden, Ohio, led all 25 laps of Monday’s opening XR Super Series semifeature at Off Road Speedway’s Elkhorn 100. Turning back a last-ditch charge from runner-up Bobby Pierce, Moran earned $5,000 and earned the pole for the following night’s $100,000-to-win main event, the richest-ever purse paid in Nebraska.
Key notes: Moran notched his fifth overall victory of the season. ... Eleven of 13 starters completed 25 laps in the caution-free event. ... No driver improved more than two positions. ... The checkers fell before 9:30 p.m. ... Tyler Stevens scratched from the semifeature. ... Monday’s 28-car field was split into two 14-car groups with dual programs of time trials and heat races. The twin 25s transferred the top five finishers in each prelim into the first five rows of Tuesday’s 100-lap, $100,000-to-win Elkhorn 100 finale. ... The event was postponed from April 14-15 because of inclement weather.
