What won the race: Leading all 35 laps from outside the front row, Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas, earned a $5,000 Northern Allstars Late Model Series victory Saturday in his debut at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Erb took the checkers 3.499 seconds ahead of runner-up Devin Gilpin, who started ninth. Michael Chilton slowed late to give up the second spot while contenders Josh Rice and Tanner English also fell from contention after triggering cautions.
Quotable: "The B-mains were really good and, you know, I've heard 'It's rough, it's rough,' and that's about as good a racetrack you can get," Erb said. "Like I told them, there's only a select few of people that can run that cushion because you can blow through it really easily. And, yeah, (racing was done on) the top, bottom. I guess they were sliding, it looks like. from all the carnage. Yeah, it was a great racetrack."

A lap-17 caution flew when Tanner English went around between turns three and four, collecting Adam Stricker. ... A Cody Mahoney-James Rice tangle drew a caution on a lap-six restart. ... Jason Jameson was running third when he slowed with a flat left-rear tire for a lap-six caution; the hometown driver retired. .... The Northern Allstars ran at Lawrenceburg for the first time since 2007. ... The event drew a big crowd. ... Dustin Nobbe drove Grant Garrison's car in the feature after breaking a water pump in his own entry; he started on the tail and retired after three laps. ... Ricky Thornton Jr. won the Northern Allstars weekend opener at Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind., but he didn't enter Lawrenceburg's event.
On the move: Kody Evans of Camden, Ohio, started 13th and finished fourth; David Webb of Nicholasville, Ky., started 15th and finished fifth.
