Josh Rice celebrates his second straight NALMS victory at Florence.
What won the race: Pole-starting Josh Rice of Verona, Ky., overcame pressure from Michael Chilton to lead all 40 laps of Saturday's Northern Allstars Late Model Series stop at Florence Speedway. Rice beat Chilton to the stripe by 3.136 seconds for his second career Northern Allstars Late Model Series victory, both coming this season at Florence.
Key notes: Josh Rice now has 13 Florence victories since 2021, including his first career Lucas Oil series triumph in May 2021. He's earned more than $90,000 over that span. ... Fifth-starting Chilton took second on lap two and chased Rice the rest of the way aboard the No. 6 Hatcher Motorsports Longhorn. ... Seth Daniels improved 10 positions to finish seventh. ... Jason Jameson, Kirk Phillips and Derek Groomer were all eliminated in an opening-lap incident. ... The main event was slowed by three cautions and lasted 28 minutes, with 15 starters completing 40 laps.
