Mitch McGrath earned $1,250 in the Father’s Day 30.
What won the race: Mitch McGrath of Waukesha, Wis., overtook polesitter Troy Springborn on the 19th lap Sunday at Wilmoth Raceway and raced to a $1,250 DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Tour victory in the Father's Day 30. McGrath took the checkers 1.333 seconds ahead of Justin Ritchie.
Key notes: McGrath notched his seventh career Dirt Kings victory. ... He also won at Wilmot in 2018. ... Cautions on laps three, 13 and 23 slowed the action. ... Heat winner Taylor Scheffler was a retiree after two laps. ... The event was added to the schedule June 10 and paid a season-low $1,250-to-win. ... Wilmot was scheduled to host the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on June 21, but that race was postponed until Aug. 12 when the tour revamped its schedule.
On the move: Runner-up Justin Ritchie of New London, Wis., started ninth.
Winner's sponsors: McGrath’s Rocket Chassis is powered by a Pro Power Racing Engine and sponsored by Sorce Services, Diamond Jim’s Auto Sales, Matco Tools by Mike Formella, TLM Company, Behling Racing Equipment, Mike Mataragas Enterprises, Ace TNT, Midwest Sheet Metal, Tire Demon and Five Knuckle.
Points chase: Heading to Wilmot, Brett Swedberg of Shawano, Wis., had 78 points to lead Nick Anvelink (72) and Justin Ritchie (70).
