Dustin Mitchell heads toward a $3,000 win on at Halifax County.
What won the race: Polesitter Dustin Mitchell of Pine Level, N.C., rolled to the $3,000 win on Saturday night in the Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series event at Halifax County Motor Speedway. Taking the checkers ahead of Russell Erwin and Michael Batten, Mitchell claimed his third series victory.
Key notes: Halifax County Motor Speedway (formerly Clary’s Motor Speedway) hosted the Fast Unified Late Model Series for the second of three scheduled events this season. … It’s just the second visit in FUEL Series history, but the I-95 Late Model Challenge, which was absorbed by FUEL Series this season, visited the Brinkleyville, N.C., track 13 times in its six-year history.
