What won the race: Two-time defending series champion Kip Hughes of Enid, Okla., advanced from the fifth starting spot to earn his first Sooner Late Model Series of the season Saturday night at Oklahoma Sports Park, earning a $750 victory in the tour's fifth event of the season.
Key notes: Hughes recorded his 15th career victory on the fifth-year series. He's the tour's all-time winningest driver, but before Saturday had not won since Aug. 24, 2019 when he recorded his eighth series victory of his title winning 2019 season.
On the move: Jay Sale of Edmund, Okla., started 16th and finished ninth.
