What won the race: Sliding ahead of Tim Manville on lap 22, fourth-starting Frank Heckenast Jr. of Frankfort, Ill., led the final nine circuits in the second round of the weekend tripleheader Friday at Tri-City Speedway. Taking the checkers 0.533 seconds ahead of Manville, Heckenast Jr. pocketed $2,500.
Key notes: After Tim Manville of Highland, Ill., snuck around early pacesetter Rusty Schlenk, Heckenast Jr. blew past Manville on lap 22 and kept him at bay. … Thursday's winner Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa, finished 10th. ... Saturday’s finale pays $3,000 to the winner of the Late Model feature and $5,000 to the modified winner. … Will Krup won Friday's modified feature to pocket $4,000.
