Camaron Marlar in victory lane Friday at Ponderosa.
What won the race: Pulling away ahead of Zach Dohm on the second lap, Camaron Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., topped Dohm and Billy Moyer Jr. to capture the biggest win of his career in the 27th Fall Classic at Ponderosa Speedway. Marlar earned $5,000 for his first career Schaeffer's Iron-Man Series triumph.
Quotable: “We’ve had a lot of issues, a lot of ups and downs … more downs than ups. We finally got it all together and gathered one night and put one together,” said Marlar. “I’m just happy.”
Key notes: Camaron Marlar joined his brother Skylar Marlar as a Schaeffer's Iron-Man Series winner. ... Camaron Marlar's older brother Mike Marlar finished fourth. Mike Marlar, the 2018 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series champion, has never won a Schaeffer's Iron-Man Series feature. … Series points leader Ryan King of Seymour, Tenn., had a transmission malfunction on the opening lap and held his car in gear with one hand, while driving with the other over the final 39 circuits. He finished 10th.
