What won the race: Wresting away the lead from Corey Dunn as they raced through traffic, outside front-row starter Tanner Collins of Franklin, Ga., won Saturday’s Crate Racin’ USA main event Saturday at Talladega Short Track. Collins earned $2,500 after finishing 1.356 seconds ahead of 10th-starting Wil Herrington, who rallied late.
Key notes: Collins picked up his first Crate Racin’ USA win of the season. … Early leader Corey Dunn lost the lead when he was trapped behind the slower machine of Troy Dixon as the leaders entered turn one. … The race was the second of TST’s Crate Racin’ USA Series weekend doubleheader. … Friday’s opener was won by Winchester, Tenn.’s Christian Hanger. … Jake Knowles captured $3,000 for winning Saturday night's B.J.
