Colten Burdette takes the checkers and $5,000 at Atomic Speedway.
What won the race: Inheriting the lead from early pacesetter Steve Casebolt on the fifth lap after Casebolt brought out the caution, Colten Burdette of Parkersburg, W.Va., ran away with the $5,000 victory in Saturday night's Eastern Fall Nationals at Atomic Speedway. He took the checkers ahead of Casebolt and Tyler Carpenter.
Key notes: After early race leader R.J. Conley entered the infield, Steve Casebolt of Richmond, Ind., drew the first caution the race on the fifth lap while leading, handing the top spot to Colten Burdette. … DIRTcar competitors had a final chance to earn national points this weekend as Atomic Speedway hosted the DIRTcar Eastern Fall Nationals, highlighted by a $5,000-to-win main event for Super Late Models. … Atomic has two more Super Late Model specials planned this season: $2,500-to-win on Oct. 10 and $4,024-to-win on Oct. 31.
