Logan Martin heads to Friday's victory at Boothill Speedway.
What won the race: Starting the 2021 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series season much like he ended the 2020 campaign, Logan Martin of West Plains, Mo., was again on top of the regional tour Friday night after capturing the tour's $3,000 season opener at Boothill Speedway. The reining Comp Cams champ finished 1.825 seconds ahead of B.J. Robinson.
Quotable: "This means a ton," Martin said. "To start off here with a bang right out of the gate — quick time, heat race win, feature win — it's a big confidence boost for our whole team."
Key notes: Martin kept third-starting B.J. Robinson of Bossier City, La., at bay to record his fifth career series win. ... The series kicked off its 15th season with the first night of the Ronny Adams Memorial, a two-race weekend at Boothill Speedway that concludes on Saturday with a $7,000-to-win finale … The race honors the late Adams, a veteran racer who passed away in August 2019 after a short battle with cancer. During his 51-year career the Texas native recorded 589 career wins, including 14 track championships at Boothill Speedway and nine Louisiana State Championships.
On the move: Spencer Hughes of Meridian, Miss., started 16th and finished 10th.
Winner's sponsors: Martin’s Rocket Chassis is powered by a Cornett Racing Engine and sponsored by Adams Construction, Big Lot Reliable Chevrolet, Steed Bros., PPG, Integra Racing Shocks and Springs, Midwest Sheet Metal, Schoenfeld Headers and Bill Frye Motorsports.
