What won the race: Leading flag-to-flag, fast qualifier and polesitter Christian Thomas of Wake Forest, N.C., cruised to the $3,000 Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series victory in the opener on Saturday night at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. He finished 0.653 seconds ahead of runner-up Shaun Harrell to claim his fourth series win.
Key notes: Thomas recorded his second win of the weekend after capturing $1,500 Friday at Fayetteville. ... Three of his four career FUEL series wins have come at 4/10-mile oval. ...
