What won the race: Surviving a green-white-checkered finish, Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., held off eighth-starting Tony Jackson Jr. to claim a $3,000 Comp Camp Super Dirt Series victory Friday at Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park as the tour kicked off its doubleheader weekend in the Show-Me State.
Key notes: Moyer's victory was his 13th on the CCSDS and gives him sole possession of fifth on the series' all-time wins list. ... Moyer used his experience to execute a perfect late-race restart, narrowly holding off Jackson of Lebanon, Mo., by 0.978 seconds at the finish line. ... Originally scheduled for 30 laps, but extended to 31 on a green-white-checkered finish, Friday's feature was slowed by three caution flags and lasted just over 21 minutes. ... Fast qualifier and polesitter, Hunter Rasdon of Jonesboro, Ark., led only the first lap and ran inside the top five until having problems on the last lap, dropping to 17th. ... The race marked the tour’s third visit to the Missouri oval and first since 2007. Action moved to Legit Speedway Park in West Plains, Mo., for another $3,000-to-win event on Saturday. … After four events in 2021, Logan Martin of West Plains, Mo., remains the series’ only repeat winner. … Billy James and Jeff Floyd won the series events at Poplar Bluff in ’07.
