What won the race: Fast qualifier Shaun Harrell of Raeford, N.C., led all 35 laps Saturday at Lake View Motor Speedway to capture his fifth career victory with the Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series. He earned $2,600 for the 35-lap victory.
Key notes: David "Banjo" Duke of Manning, S.C., finished second, crossing the finish line 1.193 seconds behind Harrell. ... Daniel Tucker briefly took the second spot on a lap-22 restart before a flat tire forced him out with three laps remaining. ... Third-running Michael Rouse spun on lap 22, collecting fourth-running Christian Thomas, the tour's season-opening winner at Fayetteville. ... Dean Bowen of Whiteville, N.C., won the FUEL visit to Lake View last season, but retired after 16 laps. … The main event, slowed by six incidents resulting in caution, lasted 38 minutes with 12 drivers completing 35 laps. ... The FUEL series returns to Lake View on Aug. 14.
