What won the race: Kyle Hardy of Stephens City, Va., picked up his fourth Pace Performance RUSH Series victory in five series events this season by leading all 30 laps Sunday at Eriez Speedway. He earned $2,000 in the Crate Late Model touring event by outrunning Jeremy Wonderling, the previous night’s tour winner at Stateline Speedway in Busti, N.Y.
Quotable: "I'm just glad it's over because Jeremy (Wonderling) was breathing down my neck," Hardy said. "I knew Jeremy was on my bumper. He showed me a nose through (turns) three and four; I caught my left front on the berm and gave it some gas to get it back in front of him. I know I gave him a little contact there; he's a hell of a racer, I have a lot of respect for him, and wouldn't expect him to do anything less."
Key notes: Hardy's four RUSH tour victories have come in four states: Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. ... The 30-lapper ran caution-free and wrapped up in less than 10 minutes. ... Sixteen drivers completed 30 laps. ... Jason Genco won the non-qualifiers’ race.
On the move: Logan Jaquay of Russell, Pa., started 23rd and finished 15th.
Winner's sponsors: Hardy's Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Ingram Race Engines, Sommey Lacey Racing, American Paint Co., Cline Construction, Anthony's Pizza, Auto Glass Experts, Xceptional Wildlife and Cluster Communication.
