Billy Moyer Jr. won from the pole position at Farley, Iowa.
What won the race: Scoring his first victory since October, Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., led all the way from his pole position Friday at 300 Raceway for a $5,000 Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association victory.
Quotable: “We have been really really struggling,” Moyer said. “The track kind of rubbered there, but we had to have a pretty good car there early and kind of did what we needed to do. I was really trying to preserve my tires and I told (myself) you’ve got to get the lead and that was the hard part and then the hardest is just managing your tires. I’m just glad to get a win, it has been a long long time.”
Key notes: Moyer won his sixth career MLRA feature and first since Oct. 10, 2020, at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. .... He'd been running the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, but stayed in Iowa for MLRA action rather than following the Hell Tour to Joliet, Ill. ... Key cautions included on the 14th lap when Jason Rauen got sideways and collected several cars. ... On the 29th laps, runner-up Jesse Stovall made contact with the slower car of Tegan Evans, who spun to collect Jeremiah Hurst among others. ... Leading series Mason Oberkramer of Broseley, Mo., returned to full on-track competition for Friday’s event after being sidelined since suffering burns in a June 17 gasoline fire while working on a pickup truck. He finished fourth.
On the move: Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, N.M., started 10th and finisehd third.
Winner's sponsors: Moyer’s Capital Race Car has a Clements Racing Engine and sponsorship from Nutrien Ag Solutions, Dyna-Gro Seed, Mesilla Valley Transportion, Phillips CPA, Pontiac RV, Hass Horizontal, FK Rod Ends, Penske Racing Shocks, New Vision Graphics and Lucas Oil.
Points chase: After Farley: 1. Tony Jackson Jr. (2,505): 2. Garrett Alberson (2,255); 3. Jason Papich (2,125): 4. Mason Oberkramer (1,840); 5. Justin Duty (1,760).
