Kyle Hardy (45) digs in the low groove en route to victory at Hagerstown.
What won the race: Overtaking race-long pacesetter Kyle Lee on the 29th lap, fourth-starting Kyle Hardy of Stephens City, Va., captured the $4,100 victory in Saturday’s Nathan Durboraw Tribute at Hagerstown Speedway. Hardy slid underneath Lee in turn three, and Lee got too high and spun out of contention, allowing Hardy to lead the rest of the way.
Quotable: “It’s truly an honor to win this race here tonight. The Durboraw family did a great job with this event and I sure am glad to be standing here.” Hardy said. "Sommey (Lacey) has given me a great opportunity this season driving his car and I hope we have a few more to come before the season is over.”
Key notes: Winner Kyle Hardy finished 1.707 seconds ahead of Trever Feathers. ... The polesitting Kyle Lee of Mercersberg, Pa., restarted on the tail after his spin but retired on lap 35. ... Lee pocketed $500 from Rocket Chassis for winning the dash along with extra lap money. … The $4,100-to-win Super Late Model event honoring the late multitime track champion Nathan Durboraw included bonus lap money of more than $4,000.
On the move: Rick Eckert of York, Pa., started 16th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Hardy's Sommey Lacey-owned Rocket Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and sponsored by Guy & Guy Masonry, Penn Ave Construction, Superior Tank, Oliver Electric, Waldorf's Ford of La Plata, Pilkerton's Service Center, Reliable Concrete, All About Wraps and Schaeffer's Racing Oil.
