Morgan Bagley is unbeaten in two trips to Crowley's Ridge.
What won the race: Seventh-starting Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, overtook B.J. Robinson on the 30th lap Friday at Crowley's Ridge Raceway and raced to a $3,000 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory. The low-running Bagley took the checkers 1.039 seconds ahead of Robinson for his first tour victory since 2019 and fifth of his career.
Quotable: "I feel like our car's had some speed and we just haven't been able to be in the right spots to catch the right breaks to take the opportunities to win races," said Bagley, who is 2-for-2 in career trips to Crowley's Ridge. " I hope this isn't a one-time deal and we can win some more."
Key notes: Bagley's previous tour victory came Aug. 30, 2019, at Crowley's Ridge. ... Logan Martin led the first 15 laps before B.J. Robinson took over from 16-19 and 21-29 after swapping slide jobs; Bagley led lap 20 and then the final 11 laps, taking over when a slower car hampered Robinson's higher line. ... Polesitter Mason Oberkramer slipped back to sixth after eight laps but salvaged a fourth-place finish. ... Brian Rickman suffered nose damage in an early spin. ... Five cautions slowed the 40-lapper while 14 drivers finished on the lead lap. ... Crowley's Ridge hosted the first night of a trio of $3,000-to-win Comp Cams events set for Labor Day weekend. … The series heads to Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Miss., on Saturday and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss., on Sunday.
On the move: Winner Morgan Bagley started seventh; Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark., started 10th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Bagley's Rocket Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and sponsored by P&W Iron Sales and Ironworks, Integra Racing Shocks, FK Rod Ends, Midwest Sheet Metal, Gotta Race, JCT Auto Sales
