What won the race: Fending off Mason Zeigler amid lapped traffic, outside front-row starter Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va., raced to the $5,000 Steel Block Late Model Series victory in Saturday night’s Hillbilly 50 at Tyler County Speedway. He finished ahead of Zeigler and Jacob Hawkins.
Key notes: Carpenter finished 1.408 seconds ahead of Zeigler. … Second-starting Tyler Riggs pulled off on lap 24. … A dozen drivers completed all 50 laps. … The Hillbilly 50 made the Steel Block Late Model Series part of the Hillbilly 100 weekend, which is capped by Sunday's $30,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event.
