What won the race: Fifth-starting A.J. Diemel of Elk Mound, Wis., overtook polesitter Don Shaw with two laps remaining Thursday at River Cities Speedway for a $1,592 victory in the Northern LateModel Racing Association finale. Rookie Mike Greseth overcame an eight-point deficit to top Shane Edginton for the series championship.
Key notes: Diemel's only previous NLRA victory came in the same race on Sept. 10, 2015. ... Diemel's winning margin over Shaw was 0.964 of a second. ... Nineteen drivers completed 25 laps. ... The Prelude to the Johnny wrapped the NLRA season and opens the John Seitz Memorial weekend, with Friday prelims and a non-touring $9,200-to-win event Saturday. … The 15th annual event honors late Bemidji, Minn., driver John Seitz.
