What won the race: Third-starting Justin Zeitner of Malvern, Iowa, overtook Blair Nothdurft on lap seven and paced the final 23 circuits, cruising to win Friday's RepairableVehicles.com Tri-State Series feature at Huset's Speedway, collecting $1,500. Nothdurft later tangled with a lapped car and got upside down, but he wasn't injured.
Key notes: The victory is Zeitner's eighth of the season with the Tri-State Series and his fourth tour win in the last five races. ... It was also Zeitner's 10th career Tri-State feature victory, further adding to his lead as the tour's all-time win leader. ... Polesitter Chad Olsen of Hendricks, Minn., claimed the runner-up position, 1.934 seconds behind Zeitner. ... Securing the third position on lap 24, Gary Brown Jr. held serve for the final six laps and rounded-out the podium at his home track. ... After leading the first six laps from his outside front row starting position, Blair Nothdurft of Renner, S.D., was involved in a rollover wreck which necessitated a red flag on lap seven, after losing the lead to Zeitner. He doesn't expect to be be able to compete in Saturday's tour event at Fairmont (Minn.) Raceway. ... The race was delayed eight minutes for cleanup and the incident ended Nothdurft's night, relegating him to finish 22nd. ... Friday's feature, part of Huset’s three-night Championship Weekend and the second tour stop at the Brandon, S.D., oval this season, was slowed by five incidents and lasted 28 minutes, with 17 competitors completing all 30 laps.
