Andrew Reaume carries the checkers after his $7,777 victory.
What won the race: Andrew Reaume of Blenheim, Ontario, scored an emotional victory Saturday night, capturing the 40-lap Brett Reaume Memorial at Southern Ontario Motor Speedway. He earned $7,777 for winning a race honoring his late father on the second night of the Canadian Fall Shootout.
Key notes: Reaume, whose car sported a throwback scheme that duplicated one of the No. 77 machines driven by his father, started from the pole position and dominated the entire distance. ... The victory was Reaume's first this season at Southern Ontario and came in the richest Late Model race contested in Canada in 2021. It was also Reaume's first start in his own car since September 2019; border restrictions due to Covid-19 have prevented him from racing in the United States and he's only made a handful of appearances at Southern Ontario this season driving a local car. … A former Late Model driver, Brett Reaume passed away at the age of 61 on July 30, 2020, after a battle with cancer. ... Runner-up Justin Coulter made his first start of the season in a car he purchased in order to participate in the Memorial event; his father and Brett Reaume were longtime friends and fellow competitors.
Winner's sponsors: Reaume’s Rocket Chassis has a Cornett engine and carries sponsorship from Westside Performance, SM Freight and All-Star Performance.
Points chase: Gregg Haskell won the track championship.
