What won the race: Elevated after Brent Dixon's disqualification, Kenny Collins of Colbert, Ga., inherited Saturday’s Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series checkered flag at Lavonia Speedway. The pole-starting Dixon led 40 laps but failed to meet minimum weight at the scales, giving the seventh-starting Collins the $5,000 payday.
Quotable: “I hate it for Brent. Me and him and Tim and all his crowd are good friends. He was way better than us. He drove an excellent race. Man, I hate to see anybody lose a race like that, but if somebody's gotta be the beneficiary of it, I'll take it," Collins said in victory lane on DIRTVision. "We got a couple of lucky breaks there on restarts and got the right lane and missed a couple of wrecks there, one on the start, and one a couple of restarts later, and had everything going way."
Key notes: Brent Dixon, who was unchallenged over 40 laps, was 20 pounds under the 2,350-pound minimum weight requirement after the race. ... Winner Kenny Collins held the second spot laps 9-40. ... Front-row starter Payton Freeman spun in turn two on the eighth lap while battling runner-up Ben Watkins for the second spot. ... Friday's winner Cody Overton started 18th and finished eighth Saturday. ... Fifth-running Pearson Lee Williams spun between turns one and two after contact from Daulton Wilson, triggering a multicar accident with the Williams car collecting Carson Ferguson. Williams and Ferguson both retired. … Adam Yarbrough spun exiting turn four on lap five. … Dalton Cook got the worst of a lap-seven collision in turn four that ended his race while he was running fifth. … A dozen drivers completed 40 laps.
On the move: Cla Knight of North Augusta, S.C., started 14th and finished third.
