What won the race: Leading all 30 laps, polesitter Rick Eckert of York, Pa., cruised to the $3,500 Zimmer’s United Late Model Series victory Friday at Williams Grove Speedway. He won by more than a 12-second margin over Gregg Satterlee.

Quotable: “It’s a shame the weather was so terrible today and kept all the people away, but it’s always great to come here,” Eckert said. “The racetrack was excellent. I mean, I was worried because last week it was a little treacherous into (turn) one. I don’t live 40 minutes from here, and it rained the last two nights hard. I was like, ‘I’m not sure they can get it in today,’ but they did. Hat’s off to the track crew and the track and all the guys here.”

Key notes: Eckert earned his ninth career win at Williams Grove and the fourth of his career in ULMS competition. ... Satterlee, who won last year's season-opening ULMS show at the Grove, couldn't stick with Eckert in finishing a distant second. ... Gene Knaub held off Jason Covert and Jared Miley in a race-long battle to finish third.

On the move: Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, Pa., started 12th and finished fifth.
