John Waters in Bradford's victory lane
What won the race: Overtaking Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, Va., in the closing laps, former tour champ John Waters of Whitesville, N.Y., led the final three circuits Sunday night at Bradford Speedway to pick up a $3,000 RUSH Crate Late Model Series victory. It was his first win of 2022 on the tour.
Quotable: "Logan was pretty good and I think we were pretty equal. I was getting good restarts there at the end and figured out how to get it done," Waters said. "Man that was exciting! After the dash I knew we had a good car. It was a quick turnaround and I couldn't have done it without my crew. I had some fender problems and those guys worked their butts off to get me out there."
Key notes: Waters took the checkered flag 1.131 seconds ahead of Brady Wonderling of Wellsville, N.Y. ... Roberson paced the first 27 circuits of the 30-lap feature but settled for a third-place finish. ... Thirteen drivers completed the entire distance. ... Clayton Tarabori won the 10-lap non-qualifiers race. ... Chad Homan won Saturday’s tour stop at New York’s Genesee Speedway; Friday's scheduled weekend opener at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., was rained out.
On the move: Jeremy Wonderling of Wellsville, N.Y., started 12th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Waters drives a Black Diamond Chasssis with sponsorship from Troupscreek Heating & Auto Parts, Atkins Appraisal, Stan’s Transmission, Little Power Shop, Chub Frank Racing, Velocita and Stirling Lubricants.
