What won the race: Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, Ga., picked up his first career Super Late Model victory, overtaking polesitter Tyler Stevens on the fifth lap and turning back a challenge from runner-up Cade Dillard on the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series at Magnolia Motor Speedway. Herrington's victory was worth $5,000 on the opening night of the Clash at the Mag as he took the checkers 1.796 seconds ahead of the seventh-starting Dillard.
Quotable: "I love this place. We've got a really good track record of coming here," Herrington said. "This is awesome ... my first-ever Super win here at Magnolia, this is awesome."
Key notes: Herrington led laps 5-21 and 23-30. ... Polesitter Tyler Stevens led the first four laps. ... Runner-up Cade Dillard slipped briefly ahead of Herrington to lead lap 22 with a turn-four slide job after a restart. ... Herrington shot between Dillard and a challenging Josh Putnam exiting turn four to regain the lead. . ... Rick Rickman hit the turn-four wall to draw a mid-race caution. ....
