What won the race: Polesitter James Rice of Verona, Ky., earned a $5,000 victory Saturday at Richmond Raceway in the eighth annual Butch Shay Memorial. Rice, a two-time winner this season on the Ultimate Heart of America Series, took the checkers ahead of Dustin Linville, who was second his second straight victory at the 3/8-mile oval.
Key notes: James Rice also won the Ultimate Heart of America tour opener on May 30 at Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind ... Runner-up Dustin Linville of Bryantsville, Ky., was gunning for his second straight special event victory at Richmond; he earned a career-high $7,500 in June 4's XR Southern All Star main event. ...
