Nick Anvelink captured his third straight Dirt Kings feature.
What won the race: Claiming his third straight victory with the Wabam Dirt Kings Tour, points leader Nick Anvelink of Navarino, Wis., rolled to the $1,250 win in Friday’s 30-lap Mid-Summer Showdown at Outagamie Speedway. He threw a slider on Justin Ritchie to grab the lead on lap nine and led the rest of the way.
Key notes: Anvelink secured his series-leading 20th career Dirt Kings victory by 2.684 seconds over Taylor Scheffler, who grabbed second from Ritchie with nine laps remaining. ... Troy Springborn also overtook Ritchie late in the distance, grabbing third on lap 27. ... Ritchie settled for fourth after leading laps 2-8. ... Polesitter Jim Schmidt led the first lap but faded to seventh. ... Cautions flew on lap six for an incident on the backstretch and lap 17 for Brett Swedberg stopping on the homestretch. ... Outagamie hosted the Dirt Kings tour for its second of three scheduled events in 2022.
