What won the race: Zack Mitchell of Enoree, S.C., led all 40 laps from the pole at Lake View Speedway on Saturday, earning his sixth feature victory of the season with the Ultimate Southeast Series and $5,000. The triumph was also the 15th of Mitchell's career, moving him into a tie for second place on the tour's all-time win list.
Quotable: "We started off real good and I thought we had a good piece right here," Mitchell said. "I seen the racetrack started to take a little rubber and I was having to really punish that right rear (tire). I appreciate Ben racing me clean."
Key notes: Further padding his series point lead, Mitchell swept both Ultimate races at Lake View this season. He also captured the Easter Egg 40 there on April 9. ... Ben Watkins of Rock Hill, S.C., moved into second place in the early laps and kept pace with Mitchell throughout the race but settled for the runner-up position, 0.488 of a second back. ... Utilizing the high-line, especially on the restarts, Ethan Wilson of Fayetteville, N.C., finished third. ... Two-time series champion and 2019 winner at Lake View, Dennis Franklin, faded in the middle of the race and finished fifth. ... The Ultimate Southeast tour made its second visit to Lake View this season and the fourth in series history. ... The feature was slowed by five cautions and lasted 25 minutes, with 12 competitors completing all 40 laps. … Only two series events remain this season.
