New father Cole Searing grabbed a Tri-State victory at Huron.
What won the race: Cole Searing led all 25 laps Saturday from the pole at Dakota State Fair Speedway, topping the RepairableVehicles.com Tri-State Series field for $1,500 at his hometown track. The victory is the second of Searing's career with the Tri-State Series.
Key notes: Fellow Huron racer David McDonald took advantage of a lap-13 restart and moved into the runner-up position, finishing 2.541 seconds behind Searing. ... Chad Olsen of Hendricks, Minn., moved into third place on the last lap. ... Shane DeMey of Denison, Iowa, advanced six positions and finished sixth. ... Fifteenth-starting Justin Karlen of Howard, S.D., advanced seven positions and finished eighth. ... Tri-State Series points leader Trevor Anderson of Watertown, S.D., completed only 17 laps and finished 14th. ... Lane Brenden of Mitchell, S.D., was part of a lap-15 wreck. He was initially disqualified for climbing out of his car during the cleanup, but series officials paid him for last place. ... Saturday's feature, the 13th race of the Tri-State Series' 21-race schedule, was slowed by three cautions and lasted 23 minutes, with 11 competitors completing 25 laps.
