Jason Welshan races to a CRUSA victory at Senoia Raceway.
What won the race: Jason Welshan of Maryville, Tenn., led all 40 laps Saturday from Senoia Raceway's pole position , topping the Crate Racin' USA field. Welshan's third Crate Racin' USA Series victory of the season paid $3,000 and extended his points lead.
Key notes: Pearson Lee Williams of Dublin, Ga., finished in the runner-up position, 0.718 seconds behind Welshan. ... Cody Haskins of Marietta, Ga., battled with Williams in the middle part of the race, but settled for the third position. ... After winning the most recent CRUSA race at Senoia on July 16, Austin Horton of Whitesburg, Ga., finished fourth. ... Sixteenth-starting T.J. Brittain of Centre, Ala., advanced nine positions and finished seventh. ... After running as high as third place, Tyler Millwood of Kingston, Ga., suffered problems on lap 14 and completed only 36 laps, relegating him to finish 22nd. ... Saturday's feature, originally scheduled as the second race of a weekend doubleheader before Friday's stop at Boyd's Speedway was rained out, was slowed by three cautions and lasted 20 minutes, with 14 competitors completing 40 laps. … Brandon McDaniel won the night’s 602 Crate Late Model feature.
