Quotable: "It's pretty awesome, you know, it's been a long time coming. I've been trying to get one of these national wins for a long time and I've been real close, just never got one," English said with tears in his eyes. "To do it like that is pretty awesome. That's the way I feel like I come through every race, start way back and come up through the field there and I think we made the right call on tires and it just paid off."

Polesitter Ashton Winger of Senoia, Ga., led the first seven laps before fading to finish fifth. ... World of Outlaws Late Model Series point leader Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., finished sixth. ... The race was slowed by two cautions and lasted 15 minutes, with 22 competitors completing 40 laps. ... The Quad City 150 weekend tripleheader concludes on Saturday with 70-lap, $30,000-to-win finale.

Feature

Tanner English of Benton, Ky., earned his first career World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series feature victory at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway on Friday, the second event of the Quad Cities 150 weekend tripleheader. English steadily moved forward from this 18th starting position and took advantage of a restart on lap 27, moving from ninth to third. English utilized the extreme bottom groove while pursuing leaders Bobby Pierce and Devin Moran as they began to hit lapped traffic in the closing laps.  English was able to clear Moran for second place on lap 39, before edging Pierce by 0.235 seconds at the line, in a photo finish.
