What won the race: Jesse Glenz of Fall Creek, Wis., took the lead for good on lap three and paced the final 28 circuits at Grand Rapids Speedway on Friday, winning the 28th annual WISSOTA Classic feature and $3,000. Glenz led all but one lap on his way to topping the WISSOTA Late Model field.
Key notes: Rick Niemi of Eveleth, Minn., moved into second place on the lap-four restart and finished 1.057 seconds back. ... Kyle Peterlin of Hibbing, Minn., moved into third on lap 10 and completed the podium. ... Polesitter Jeff Massingill of Keewatin, Minn., led lap two before fading to finish fourth. ... NLRA series feature winner at Grand Rapids on June 30, Jeff Provinzino of Hibbing, Minn., finished seventh. ... Two-time winner at Grand Rapids this year, Zach Wohlers of Cohasset, Minn., completed only 16 laps and finished 22nd. ... Friday's feature, which ran as an independent event after the series dropped WISSOTA Challenge Series sanctioning, was slowed by one caution and lasted 11 minutes, with 17 competitors completing all 30 laps.
