Gregg Satterlee heads for his ULMS victory at Port Royal.
What won the race: After suffering a hard crash Friday at Bedford Speedway that forced him into a backup car, Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., won flag-to-flag in Saturday's 33-lap Butch Renninger Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. He beat Michael Norris by 1.552 seconds to earn $7,333 for his fourth career win in the memorial event sanctioned by Zimmer's United Late Model Series.
Quotable: "It's always a pleasure coming to run this race," Satterlee said. "The first time I ever came to Port Royal was for the Renninger Memorial and we were fortunate enough to win, so it's been a special event for us every year to come to. It's at our favorite race track and we've just got to know a lot of good people around here. Certainly an honor to win this race again."
Key notes: The victory was Satterlee's sixth consecutive at Port Royal in ULMS competition. ... He notched his seventh ULMS victory of the season and 18th of his career ... The feature was slowed by two cautions and lasted 17 minutes with 18 competitors completing 33 laps. ... The race honored the late Butch Renninger, a three-time Port Royal champion who had 41 victories at the Juniata County oval. He also served on the speedway board while overseeing track preparations and concessions.
